HLAC - Lifelong Wellness Application Paper
Write a paragraph on each of the following:
I didn’t realize until I took this class there were names for the way people walked and stood: under-pronation and over-pronation. In this class, our instructor told us how to work with that depending on if we walked with over-pronation, under-pronation or neutral. He informed us of good fats like avocados and nuts. Also it’s important to keep a strong core.
Since I’ve found out what my pronation is I have found the best way for me to exercise. I’ve also been eating better fats, not that I ever eat horrible fats. Avocados have been a regular vegetable in my house. I plan to start doing more yoga. Yoga helps build a strong core which is a workout I enjoy very much.
I may not like running however I do enjoy walking and exercising. As I’ve gotten older and busier, it’s been harder to try to put exercise in that busy schedule. I do plan to keep walking as much as possible, as well as the elliptical and yoga. I want to stay as healthy as possible. I don’t want to gain the infamous freshman fifteen everyone talks about. I just need to make more time and make sure I get my exercise done at least three times a week.
I can’t really think of anything that needs to be improved. Nate was great to work with. He was a good instructor. He made sure we would push ourselves to make some kind of improvement. It was always nice to come to class to an instructor with an enjoyable attitude.
